The final programme for the 2010 Stroke Society of Australasia Annual Scientific Meeting is available here

The 21st Stroke Society of Australasia will be held in Melbourne, Australia, on 1-3 September 2010 at the Sofitel. Our two keynote speakers are Professor George Howard and Professor Marie-Germaine Bousser. Professor George Howard will share his vast experience in large trials and epidemiology, including the groundbreaking REGARDS study of increased stroke deaths in the south-eastern ‘stroke belt’ states of the US. Professor Marie-Germaine Bousser will draw on her expertise across acute stroke treatments, secondary prevention with anticoagulants, risk reduction in patients with and without diabetes, diffusion-weighted imaging in cerebral venous thrombosis, migraine and vascular dementia.

The conference will feature dedicated sessions and workshops on

    * small vessel disease
    * stroke in indigenous and disadvantaged populations
    * palliative care
    * neurointervention
    * rehabilitation, and
    * stroke in developing countries.
